Surfboard Care Instructions
We are confident that you will love the ride of your new board. Nowhere else can you get a surfboard with this level of performance, customization and attention to detail. Following these few simple "tips" will help you better maintain a long life span for your new board so you can get as many hours as you can handle on the water. Thank you for your support of The Walker Project®, and remember: "Surfing Comes First".™
- TIP #1: IF YOU ARE BAKING, SO IS YOUR BOARD. DO NOT EXPOSE BOARDS TO LONG PERIODS OF INTENSE HEAT (LIKE INSIDE YOUR VEHICLE) AND/OR SUNLIGHT. OVER TIME THIS CAN CAUSE DELAMINATION AND/OR YELLOWING OF THE RESIN.
- TIP #2: IF ITS TOO TIGHT, DON'T FORCE IT. IF ITS NOT PADDED, DONT RISK IT. THE USE OF WAKEBOARD RACKS THAT ARE TOO TIGHT OR INSUFFICIENTLY PADDED CAN CAUSE CRACKS. TIGHT BUNGEE CORDS AND/OR STRAPS CAN ALSO CAUSE DAMAGE.
- TIP #3: THE BETTER CARE TAKEN, THE LONGER YOUR BOARD WILL PERFORM FOR YOU. IF YOU DO CRACK OR DAMAGE THE BOARD, GET IT FIXED RIGHT AWAY. IF YOU RIDE THE BOARD WHILE CRACKED YOU MAY WORSEN THE DAMAGE AND/OR MAKE IT HARDER TO FIX LATER. ONLY MAKE REPAIRS USING EPOXY RESIN.
- TIP #4: IF YOUR BOARD HAS A NEW VENT SYSTEM INSTALLED: THESE VENT SYSTEMS ALLOW AIR INSIDE THE CORE OF YOUR BOARD TO EXPAND AND ESCAPE. HOWEVER, NEVER LEAVE YOUR BOARD IN YOUR VEHICLE WITHOUT ADDEQUATE VENTILATION. DO NOT WAX OR COVER VENT. AFTER USE-RINSE WITH FRESH WATER WITH LOW PRESSURE TO REMOVE ANY SALT CRYSTALS, SAND, ETC. FROM RECESSED AREA.
